Trulli Teams With Top Installers On Demos
Trulli, the car audio company offering a thin, coneless woofer, is pushing into car audio retail with a large marketing effort to specialists.
Trulli is working with some of the top installers, JT Torres and Jeremy Katz, to put its TD10S 10-inch woofers into several vehicles that will be at KnowledgeFest in Dallas so dealers may try them out. The woofers have a mounting depth of 2.2 inches.
“We understand we’re the ‘too good to be true technology.’ We don’t want you to have doubt. We want to eliminate that, so if you can hear it first hand in different applications and talk to [other] installers, we think that will help installers feel more confident with this technology,” said Jordan Neuhauser.
The company has signed up 35 dealers since April, it said.

In addition to the TD10S coneless woofer the company expects to offer a wireless enclosed, powered subwoofer by the holiday season called the Bass50 (which is loaded with the TD10S). While the wireless sub box can be installed by consumers, it may be used by dealers for demo purposes in customers’ cars, said Neuhauser. As a demo tool it can help sell any subwoofer by showing the customer what added bass sounds like in their particular vehicle. Or it can be used to demo and sell the Bass50 itself, said Trulli.
“One of the things we heard from people at KnowledgeFest in Vegas and Nashville was, ‘We’d love to hear this in a vehicle.’ So Jeremy Katz is working on a Porsche 997 doing two enclosures….sealed and ported,” said Neuhauser. The TD10S will also be shown in the Bass50 enclosure in Dallas in a Jeep Wrangler. Finally, two different types of enclosures for the TD10S will be shown in a truck demo, that’s part of the Truck Expo to take place at KnowledgeFest in September. JT Torres is working on the truck demo.
As we reported earlier, the TD10S, which shipped earlier this year, has a magnet and voice coil that are wrapped around the speaker’s perimeter. The woofer uses a ring of neodymium magnets and a 7-inch voice coil. Power handing is rated at 288 watts nominal, 600 watts “program” and 1000 watts peak. See other specifications here. The speaker (under an earlier supplier) won a CES Innovation Award in 2014.
The Bass50 can charge via 12 volt aux power as you drive via a Lithium battery, which can also be removed and charged at home. An optional vehicle kit has rotary knobs for volume.
Trulli, working with Torres and Katz, is sponsoring the Fusion360 3D design seminar at KnowledgeFest Dallas as well as a separate Trulli seminar. The information is as follows:
