Selected DJs will perform live on Tuesday, June 23 during the 8:00-10:00 PM event window.
Each selected DJ will perform a 5-minute set. The goal is simple: win the room.
Key Timing
Applications close Monday, June 22 at 5:00 PM CT.
Selected DJs will be notified by Monday, June 22 at 7:00 PM CT.
Selected DJs must arrive by 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 23 for check-in, gear review, soundcheck, and competitor briefing.
The battle runs during the 8:00-10:00 PM Tuesday-night event window.
Gear Policy
DJs may perform on the gear they are most comfortable with, subject to advance approval and production review.
DJs may bring their own gear if it is approved in advance. The production team must know what each DJ is using before the event so transitions stay fast, clean, and fair.
Approved setups may include:
- Turntables
- CDJs
- Controllers
- Standalone DJ systems
- Laptop / DVS setups
- Other approved professional DJ setups
Gear Guardrail
There will be one active DJ setup and one prep setup.
While one DJ performs, the next DJ will be staged and ready with their selected gear whenever possible.
No surprise gear changes at showtime.
Performance Rules
- Each selected DJ gets one 5-minute performance slot.
- DJs may use the microphone during their set.
- Sets must be performed live.
- DJs should keep transitions clean and professional.
- Event appropriate content language please
- DJs must be ready when called.
- The emcee will keep the show moving between sets.
- Judges will score privately.
- Judges will not provide live commentary during each performance.
Judging + Scoring
Participants will be judged based on the following categories.
Creativity
25%
Song choice, originality, set concept, moments, surprises, and personality.
Technique
25%
Mixing, transitions, scratches, blends, control, timing, and command of gear.
Crowd Interaction
25%
Ability to read the room, move the crowd, build energy, and connect.
Stage Presence
25%
Confidence, professionalism, performance energy, and overall command of the moment.
Scoring Method
Each judge scores each DJ from 1-25 points in each category. Maximum score per judge is 100 points. The final score is the average of all judge scores.

Tie-Breakers
- Highest Crowd Interaction average wins.
