FAQs

How does the Universal Port improve bass?

The Universal Port transforms the Bass50 into a fourth-order bandpass system, boosting output in the low-bass range. It focuses energy into a tighter band for louder, punchier sound—especially in vehicles or outdoor spaces.

What is a fourth-order bandpass enclosure, and why does it matter?

It’s a two-chamber design that boosts loudness by focusing sound energy into a specific bass range. That means more impact, better projection, and tighter low-end compared to sealed or ported boxes alone.

Do I need any tools to install the Universal Port?

You’ll need the Trulli hex tool that came with your Bass50 to remove the screws before attaching the Port—but that’s it. Once the screws are out, installation is quick and tool-free thanks to built-in latches and a precision gasketed seal.

When should I use the Universal Port?

Use the Universal Port when your goal is to get the most output possible—especially in vehicle setups, tailgates, or outdoor events. It’s a lightweight way to boost bass without needing extra gear or installation. If you’re aiming for high-impact performance and don’t mind a slightly larger footprint, the Port is a powerful upgrade.

Will I get more runtime with the Universal Port?

You may! It depends on the genre of music and the output you’re pushing. The Port makes the system more efficient, the Bass50 doesn’t need to work as hard to hit the same output levels—so you can get longer playtime at similar volume. You can also run it harder for significantly more bass without losing battery life compared to the sealed setup. Whether you’re maximizing runtime or performance, the Port gives you more control.

What orientation should the Bass50 be in when using the Universal Port?

The Universal Port works in both up-firing and down-firing setups. Up-firing places the Bass50 on bottom and the Port on top—perfect for pole-mounting with the built-in (Rugged) or optional (Carpeted) adapter. Down-firing flips the setup, with the Port on bottom and the Bass50 grille facing down. Choose based on your space and desired output—up-firing offers immersive, room-filling bass, while down-firing gives you even punchier low-end.

What material is the Universal Port made from?

Like the Bass50 itself, the Universal Port is crafted from precision-built Baltic birch plywood. This pro-grade material delivers acoustic consistency, strength, and durability—whether you’re indoors, outside, or on the move. It’s the same high-quality wood used in touring-grade speaker cabinets, chosen for sound integrity and longevity.

Will it work with SKAA and wireless setups?

Absolutely. The Universal Port is an acoustic enclosure—it doesn’t contain electronics or require any special connections. It simply enhances the way your Bass50 performs. Whether you're using SKAA wireless, Bluetooth, AUX, or USB-C, the Port works seamlessly as a passive extension of your existing setup.

What’s the total weight with the Port attached?

With the Port and Bass50 combined, the system weighs about 66 lbs. That might sound hefty—until you realize you're getting a full subwoofer rig, tuned enclosure, amp, DSP, battery, and wireless receiver in one box. Compared to hauling multiple components to achieve similar output, the Port + Bass50 combo is incredibly efficient for the power and performance it delivers.

What’s the difference between the Rugged and Carpeted Universal Port?

The Rugged Universal Port features our durable molded coating—built to withstand tailgates, travel, and tough environments. It has the same acoustic performance and internal components as the Carpeted version but with a tougher exterior that matches the Rugged Bass50. Choose Rugged if your setup sees a lot of movement, weather, or wear.

Are the materials inside the Rugged Port different from the Carpeted one?

Both versions feature the same performance-focused construction: a precision-tuned enclosure made from premium Baltic birch, designed for efficient airflow and powerful output. The Rugged Port adds a molded exterior finish and includes an integrated M20 pole mount for easy top speaker integration.

Does the Rugged Port support pole mounting?

It does! The Rugged Port includes a built-in M20 threaded pole mount, so you can screw in your speaker stand and go. Whether you’re running a portable PA or adding tops for a full-range system, it’s ready to stack right out of the box.

Can the Rugged Port handle outdoor conditions?

Absolutely. Its tough coating protects against dings, scuffs, and light moisture, making it ideal for tailgates, festivals, or open-air setups. Combine it with the Bass50’s IPX4 rating and you’ve got a powerful, portable system built for real-world environments.

Will the rugged coating scratch or flake?

The rugged finish is designed to resist surface damage from gear, cables, or transport. While no coating is totally immune to wear, this one’s built for utility and longevity—perfect for people who move fast and play loud.
